6 Bed Dorm
The Outside Inn is a ground floor, six bed dorm room with custom designed bunk beds. Each bed has its own personal power point and reading light. There is secure storage to keep your belongings safe and Wifi is available for free. Bed linen is provided and the beds are pre-made. Shared shower and toilet facilities are available on the first floor and a light breakfast is provided every morning.
The room was created by the fabulous Precious Collective, as a cabinet of curiosities. The door opens to reveal a saturated room of coloured landscapes and shiny lacquered local birds, overlooked by a ceiling that meets the sky. It truly is a place to bring the outside in…
Precious’ output is an amalgamation of each members’ cheeky side. Creating juicy works with layers of glossy paint, plush textiles, and everything in between, they manage to create a humorous world with no rules, a tactile landscape of colour and texture.
The room houses intricate handmade curiosities such as inlaid votive paintings, bumpy wall reliefs and ‘trompe l’oeil’ furniture. Think theatre and Dr.Seuss meets luxurious mansion, meets the need to decorate. This encompasses walls, ceiling and floor, with an emphasis on celebrating the beautiful architrave and skirting of this historic building.
